| Genre: Thriller Main characters: Greg Tenorly, Cynthia Blockerman, Carnie and Carsie Summary: Greg and Cynthia are now happily dating. The only problem in Greg’s life is the fact that Cynthia’s mother has moved in with her – although she is a rather charming old lady. Which isn’t to say he wasn’t desperate to get her back when she was kidnapped. Dr. Elmo has finally found the love of his life in Carsie. However when he finds out his mother has Alzheimer’s he just has to postpone the wedding. Little did he know that his mother was only faking, in order to earn more time to push him and Carsie apart. Nevertheless, he’ll end up very thankful to her as not only he’ll discover Carsie and her family were after him for his money, but also his true love. |
Greg is a bit more detective-like in this book – meaning that, instead of being a victim of circumstances, he sorts of willingly gets involved in them (he starts actively looking for clues after Cynthia’s mother has been kidnapped). Cynthia is now only a background character – she’s just there, nothing interesting coming from her. The new characters are rather interesting, Carnie, a bit of a psycho who enjoys murder, and her sister Carsie, a woman in love with her husband to be but also plotting to extort money from him. They sort of held the novel together as I was always wondering what one of them will do next :)
What I liked most: A rather captivating thriller I quite enjoyed. Probably what I liked most was the fact that this book overwhelmed the expectations I had after reading another book of this author. :)
What I liked least: The previous-to-last chapter. How exactly did Greg know that Carsie was at that balcony?
Recommend it? Yup.
